A Visit To Toronto Region Board Of Trade

I, along with some other students got a chance to attend the Small Business Summit in Toronto thanks to our college. As we reached the place, it felt like we traveled in a wormhole and stumbled into another galaxy's Business Planet.

It started with presentation of LinkedIn, explaining how world's biggest professional networking ground works and how it benefits new business starters.

The purpose of this visit was to network and get to know the insights of business world. The TorontoRBOT ambassador made everyone shuffle up and sit with strangers (Business Pioneers). We get to know about their success stories, their strategies and many tit-bits of business world. On my table there were people from Innovative-reusable-bandage company to IT Recruiters to  Go Green Cleansing Company and very different kind of Real Estate agent.

A page was given to all of us in which we have to introduce our selves in 10 seconds. As we were writing down what do we do in very precise manner, some of us started sharing what they wrote.
And in no time we were giving and taking points on each other's "Opening Speech". It was really interesting that how these successful people were sharing and helping each other, proving their down to earth nature.I learned a lot from them.

About half an hour later, another announcement happened about two workshops that we have to attend. One was from CandyBox Marketing by Darrell Keezer (Father of 4) , while other was from Mabel's Labels' Julie Cole (Mother of 6). Well both of them were about Digital Marketing and Word Of Mouth;our another purpose for this summit.

Digital Marketing played a major role in their success. It clearly made sense, you have to keep in touch with your clients. And keep interaction active without acting like any other twitter bot.The workshops were of 40 minutes each.

Apart from these, there were many other companies there too. Like Microsoft, yellopages,
CASIP and many more.

And very nice food after all these. Overall, It was a great experience. Very thankful to Marc Bueno for this opportunity.
